EDUCATION

- Cultural Area

Musicology (Prof. Wessely, Vienna), German Philology (Prof. Zeman, Vienna) and Philosophy (Prof. Klein, Vienna) as well as pianoforte, counterpoint, harmonics (Prof. Kojetinsky, Graz and Bayreuth) and singing (Prof. E. Schärtel, Conservatory Nürnberg).
Promotion to Ph.D. at the University of Vienna in 1977 with his thesis on “The musical alienation in the stage works of Kurt Weill and Bertold Brecht”, published as book in Germany, Japan and Italy.

- Economical Area

Deutsche Bank (German Bank) first as trainee then as collaborator in the Department for the Acquisition of Clients and the Department of Credit in Munich, Frankfurt, and Milan. Final certificate awarded June 30, 1985. Also received certificate (diploma) in International Business Formation at the Luigi Bocconi University (Harvard sister), Milan, 1984/85.

LANGUAGES


Dr. Wagner is fluent in German (native), English, Italian and French.
GHW works internationally as a multimedia lecturer, director (stage, TV, radio, ), music historian and writer.
He is a member of the P.E.N. Club for German –speaking Writers abroad ( former Exile P.E.N. Club)and of the P.E.N. Club Liechtenstein
He is a renowned humanitarian, founded the Post-Holocaust Dialogue Group with the historian Dr. Abraham Peck , department of history at the University of Portland/ Maine. Gottfried . resides since 1983 in Italy with his wife Teresina and son Eugenio.
